That's what HE said.

"I believe that nobody in America should be denied basic health care because he or she lacks health insurance," Obama said, after calling into a webcast including clergy and believers of Evangelical, Protestant, Catholic and Jewish orders.

No one is denied basic health care, period, if they don't have insurance. You simply go to your local emergency room and they will treat you. Fill-out their financial assistance/charity forms and they will write-off your medical bill, IF you qualify.

If you don't qualify for the hospital's charity, go down to the local Public Aid office and apply for MediCaid. Make too much for MediCaid? Then you should be able to afford your health bill, as the guidelines for MediCaid allow an individual to make around $1600 per month before you're disqualified. And some states guidelines are even higher. Some states make you pay doctor co-pays and prescription co-pays. Guess what?! SO DO PEOPLE ON HEALTH INSURANCE THROUGH THEIR EMPLOYER!

Welcome to the real world, where you have to actually pay at least a small fraction of the cost(s) for what you get.
